CHRIS丨Matters needing attention in the layout of pneumatic conveying pipelines and common causes of failures

(Summary description)Suggestions for good pneumatic conveying pipeline layout: 1. Keep it as short as possible. 2. Make the pipe as strictly vertical or horizontal as possible. 3. Bend the pipe as little as possible. 4. The turning radius of all pneumatic conveying elbows should be 4 to 5 feet (turning radius is generally 15 times the diameter of the pipe). 5. Sufficient ventilation holes (minimum 12" diameter) on receiving box. 6. If necessary, place enough dust collectors on the receiving box. 7. Sufficient ground clearance (4-6 feet) at the hose connection to allow the hose to bend naturally. 8. The elbow is tight and smooth.   Reasons for system failure caused by improper arrangement of pneumatic conveying pipelines: 1. Sharp turns or too many curves. 2. Useless bends or turns. 3. Shut off valve or diverter valve in series. 4. The pipe length is longer than necessary. 5. Diagonal piping. A deviation of 5 degrees or more from strictly horizontal or vertical will increase air demand; otherwise it will cause a power surge. 6. Any leak in the delivery pipeline will produce similar results or not. 7. Insufficient venting may cause pressure to build up in the receiving tank and may cause it to expand or rupture. NOTE: Do not use other fill tubes for venting. 8. Fill the pipe connection at the bottom of the hopper. Overcome the unloading of the static pressure of the product in the box, greatly reducing the unloading rate. 9. Horizontal connection to hose. 10. Reduce pipe size. If the trailer or portable storage device has 4" or 5" pipe, the 4" or 5" pipe should be provided.
